Truckers have a way to help save their lives and the lives of others: caffeine. A 2013 study found that truckers who consume caffeine are 63% less likely to crash . The American Association for the Advancement of Science writes:
Long distance commercial drivers who consume caffeinated substances such as coffee or energy drinks, to stay awake while driving, are significantly less likely to crash than those who do not, even though they drive longer distances and sleep less, finds a study published today on bmj.com.
Some of our favorite athletes are just like us – they have their everyday caffeine regimenand love it.
But did you know that some athletes don’t just have it as part of their morning routine; they also use it to boost sports performance?
In fact, three-fourths of the world’s elite athletes take advantage of caffeine’s performance-enhancing properties.
But have athletes always been allowed to drink coffee and other products with caffeine in them, especially right before the sport?
If so, how much are they allowed to consume?
If a workout is one of those things you do first thing in the morning, then you must be familiar with the sluggish feeling of getting out of bed,and getting to the gym.
So what do you do?
You make your way to the coffee maker for that extra jolt.
But is caffeine before a workout a good idea?
Preparing for exams and tests in high school and college may be essential to getting an A, entering the university of your dreams or making the grade to go on for a master’s degree. Assuming you’ve studied the subject or subjects thoroughly, what should you do just one before an exam?
If it’s a big mid-term or final, an Advanced Placement or a Graduate Record Exam or other graduate school test, most people have to study the subjects thoroughly during the semester or school year or years. Attempting to learn all the material one hour before the very end is not a good strategy for a final exam or for a placement test.
Unless you work outdoors or indoors in a job where you are physically active all day, it can be difficult for some people who have desk jobs to stay awake at work without caffeine.
Maybe the most important thing you can do to make sure you don’t nod off at work is to get a good night of sleep, at least 7 to 8 hours, at a regular time every night. Boredom can also cause you to nod off. Other than getting a good night’s sleep and having a fascinating job, there are things you can do to stay awake.
